SEA Region Churches
Our Johor Baru Central Christian Church is part of the family of churches of SEA Region Churches and in the wider circle of the ICOC Churches Worldwide.
In 1988 a team of 15 people, set out from London to begin the Central Christian Church in Singapore.
The church grew dramatically, and in 1990, sent out a planting to Jakarta, Indonesia. A year later, a mission team was sent to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Since that time, both churches have worked with the Singapore church to plant other churches throughout what has become known as the South-East Asia Region (SEA Region).
In 2006 our sister churches in Japan decided to be part of the SEA Region, so we are now a family of churches with ministries and Hope programmes in the following countries:
Each of these countries has its own dream to spread God’s word throughout the nation. Indonesia, for example, has set itself the challenging goal of sending out five new mission teams every year between 2011 and 2015, for a total of 25 new church plantings in just five years. The Singapore church is continuing to provide leadership, support and training for the mission teams in Malaysia, bringing the total number of churches in that country to seven. With disciples in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Kota Kinabalu, Johor Bahru, Seremban, Ipoh and Kuching, the churches in Malaysia are also on a path for rapid expansion.
